The New Luxury South Florida Real Estate Market

In the wake of what has been a bewildering time, South Florida has taken  center stage as the eyes of the nation shift their gaze to the desirable peninsula. Why, is that, you might ask? From enviable weather to waterfront-to-spare and gentler imposed taxes, there are a myriad reasons. And while the world slips into the confines of a new normal and remote working becomes commonplace, it’s time to make a move.

Enter: an influx of newbies looking to make south Florida home.

The only problem is, are there enough homes? A dwindling inventory in the midst of so many moves has been the shining beacon of hope for luxury buildings that may have been overlooked at one time when wealthy purchasers turned to waterfront homes as a matter of preference.

Take Arte Surfside, for instance. The new kid on the block for the Surfside set is an artfully designed building by famed-Italian-Architect, Antonio  Citterio. Citterio—known for his work with giants like Hermes, Kartell and B&B Italia, when not designing residential gems—used a  Mediterranean-inspiration for the über exclusive building which acts as home to such recognizable names as Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump. Properly nestled on the sand and a stone’s throw from Bal Harbour Shops, Arte is superbly situated for the tastes of its inhabitants.

And the buck doesn’t stop there. Other luxury buildings like One Thousand Museum and The Ritz Carlton similarly report spikes in condo sales when compared to last year; and while the numbers are on the rise, the purchaser trend has shifted. Luxury condo sales in South Florida and the Magic city, specifically, were often skewed international with interest from a global crowd looking for a beach pad to escape to. Today, domestics are swiping up inventory as a permanent home.

Window Treatments & Interior Design

You what that means, don’t ya. The need for home appointments of a matching caliber is on a parallel rise. The aforementioned Arte, as an example, selected ShadeMonster to design and install their window treatments for their stellar service and unique ability to deliver quality, quickly. Similarly associated with brands such as Sisters City NYC and Plymouth Miami Beach as well as high-profile-purchasers like Teyanna Taylor and Angela Simmons, the proof is, as they say, in the pudding.

The Greater Trend

And there is plenty to go around: “this recent trend is an opportunity to increase our footprint in the luxury market… not only us, but there are so many talented local interior designers that I believe will be given the chance to show their talents on a bigger platform as capital continues to flow into South Florida,” says Christina Pino, part-owner of ShadeMonster.
