The openness percentage refers to the amount of sunlight that filters through your shades based on how tightly the fabric is woven. Higher percentages allow more light to filter through, while lower percentages allow less light through.

Material
Back shade (Blackout)
100% PES fabric with smooth blackout coating backing, it provides better insulation and UV protection. Water resistant. NFPA701 certified flame retardant material upon request.
The back of the blackout shade is white to adhere to the majority of the building's requirements.
Front Shade (Solar Shade)
Solar shades are made from vinyl that is finely and tightly woven to provide light and heat coverage.
The percentage in openness indicates how much sunlight will filter through your shades based on how tightly the fabric is woven. Most homeowners choose a 5% openness for their screen shades. This is the ideal percentage to enjoy views without any unnecessary glare, while protecting furniture from harmful UV rays. Anything below 5% openness is recommended for maximum shading, privacy, and energy savings.

Factory Deductions
Inside mount fabric will have a deduction of 1 1/4" made from the factory to allow the mechanism to work properly. For total blackout we suggest adding side channels to cover light gaps on the side of the window shades.
Do not account for these deductions when measuring your windows.
Motorization Option
Motorized shades will come to you already programmed, and ready to operate.
A 2-channel remote can operate on a double frequency (One double roller shade).
The 4-channel and 16-channel remote allows you to operate multiple window shades. We suggest having a dedicated remote control for every room.
When upgrading to multi-channel/frequency remote, please select 'No Remote' for any additional motorized shades you want to add to and power with it.
Add-on Smart WiFi Hub allows you to operate your motorized shade with Alexa and Google Voice Assistant.
Quick Tips to Remember:
- Use a steel measuring tape
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for width, round down to the nearest 1/8"
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment for height, round down to the nearest 1/8"

Installation
ShadeMonster offers free shipping within the contiguous United States for any product under certain sizes and weight restrictions. For items over the maximum restrictions, the shipping costs will be calculated at checkout based on the shipping carrier.

We are not currently shipping shutters to Hawaii or Alaska. Please contact us directly regarding shipping fees associated with orders outside of the contiguous United States.
No shipments can be made to military bases outside the continental United States (APO and FPO addresses).
3-Year Limited Warranty
ShadeMonster extends the following warranty to the original purchaser of window treatments, which are properly installed in the original window, with proof of purchase. This warranty is in addition to any warranty provided by manufacturers of products sold under brand names.
What is covered:
- Materials, operating mechanisms (included cords and ladders) and other parts are covered for 3 years. You will be charged for replacement parts on any order that's more than 3 years old.
- Manufacturer defects and shipping damage (reported within 14 calendar days)
